Repeat Prescriptions
Our repeat prescription service allows you to request a prescription of your regular medication without a consultation.
The conditions for this are:
- Your health condition is stable.
- We are monitoring your health condition appropriately to ensure the prescription is still appropriate.
A script will be ready 2 working days after you request it. This script can be collected or faxed to your Pharmacy.
The nurse who prepares the script will check that you have seen your GP or Nurse Practitioner at least once in the past 6 -12 months.
The nurse will also check whether you are due to have any tests related to your health condition that do not require a GP or Nurse Practitioner appointment. Examples are blood pressure checks & lab tests.
Generally if any of these are required we will ask you to do them within the next 3 months cycle prior to the next script due date.
However if these checks are urgent or overdue we may insist that you do these before we release the script, or give you a short supply to allow time for the required check.
When you request a script please
- Identify yourself clearly,
- Name the medications specifically,
- Leave a contact number so that we can contact you if needed,
- State whether you want to collect the script or have it faxed to your pharmacy.
